A Walk to Remember
Helllooo family and friends!!
This was a good one! Every week is a good one honestly. In the beginning of the week I went on exchanges with the zone leaders and it was sweet! We found three new investigators who seemed really interested, and we have an appointment with them this week!
Some exciting news. Tea had her baptismal interview this week and passed!! She is so excited! The Elder that interviewed her said she is awesome and has such a great testimony and now since she has been going to church her husband has been coming to church and showing a little bit of interest!! Also one of our recent converts Brian, who is such a great guy, is going to BYU for school in January so dad you could possibly see him!! I told him you work at the heath center. His dad has been coming to church for a while now but hasn't really been interested in learning! But he and I have been becoming really good friends and he invited us over for dinner tomorrow.
Our district got 101 new investigators this month! #revember (Long story, but our district puts a twist on every month. So in October we did "Octhundred" because we got 100 new investigators and in November we did "Revember" to revember octhundred hahaha! Then In December we are doing "Desender" Don't ask why haha).
This week we volunteered again at the train station, but this time we were chefs and not elves! We got to give hot chocolate and candy to all the kids on the train. It was so fun! I love volunteering at the train. There is an intermission between the the two trains so we get to talk to a lot of the workers and a lot of them are curious on what we believe, so it is cool to talk to them about it. Next time our whole district is gonna be there so it's gonna be fun! (sorry mom no pictures, I forgot.)
A cool miracle from his week: Me and Elder Bester were driving back to our apartment and we saw this guy sitting on a bench, but we just drove past him because it was almost curfew. We sat in the car at the apartment for a little bit and then Elder Bester gets out and starts walking towards him. Luckily he was still there! We started talking to him about Light the World and he was thankful we stopped and talked to him!! He gave us hugs, and said he was sitting there thinking so negatively and we helped him. It was sweet! Then we asked if we could say a prayer with him before we left him and he hugged us again and then I started praying. It was funny!
Now this is where the "walk to remember" comes in. So we were driving back from a member meal and we were low on gas, but it was the Sabbath so we couldn't buy gas! We thought we had enough to make to the apt. but all the sudden we just start slowing down and me and Elder Bester just looked at each other and were like, "Oh crap!" We had to pull over and walk three miles to a gas station. It gets dark in Maine at like 4:30 so it was pitch black, and it was so cold, and we were surrounded by huge trees with maybe a house every 10 minutes! We finally got to the gas station and asked for a gas can. They gave us one but it was broken! We had to walk all the way back, but the gas was leaking so we had to pour some gas into a water bottle and pour that the water bottle into the tank!! It was just a crazy night! Ha ha I will never forget that night. Haha
I'm doing great! I love this gospel and am so thankful for it! Go and light the world this Christmas season! Simple things go a long way!
